Una apasionada carta de amor a Miami: el nuevo tema celebra la diversidad y el multiculturalismo. El audio ya está disponible en plataformas digitales, y el video se estrena el 25 de julio en YouTube.

Miami, FL – 15 de julio de 2025 – Recién nombrado “Mejor Acto Musical” según los lectores del Miami New Times, Electric Piquete se prepara para lanzar el tercer sencillo y video de su álbum de larga duración de 2024 Azabache, titulado “Muévete Con Ganas”. El tema cuenta con la participación del cantante, compositor y percusionista MannySwagg en la voz principal. El video fue concebido y dirigido por Christopher Tijerino (Cr38te Media), y se filmó en diversas locaciones de Miami, incluyendo el icónico Ball & Chain en La Pequeña Habana. El estreno será el 25 de julio en el canal de YouTube de la banda.

“Me dejé llevar por la vibra de los sketches de Que Pasa USA fusionándose con un remix al estilo ‘Conga’ de Miami Sound Machine,” comenta Swagg. “Fondos de neón se mezclan con Carnaval—balseros bailando por Miami Beach y Hialeah—evocando la diáspora, el exilio y la experiencia multicultural, todo en el marco de una auténtica historia miamense.”

Nacido en La Habana, Cuba, Swagg lidera su grupo La Creación, y ha colaborado previamente con Sol + The Tribu, BarrioActivo, Diana Fuentes y Jorge Luis Chacín, entre otros. Es autor de la letra y la melodía vocal de “Muévete”, mientras que el guitarrista de Electric Piquete, Chris Correoso, compuso la música original.

Inicialmente titulado “Cheque Sin Fondo”, el tema fue grabado durante las sesiones del álbum Azabache en 2022. La banda siempre sintió que la pieza ganaría fuerza con una voz tradicional. Tras años de escuchar a Swagg en la escena musical de Miami—y luego de un encuentro fortuito en una gira por Carolina del Norte—el cofundador y bajista de la banda, Michael Mut, lo invitó a colaborar. Luego de una actuación explosiva como invitado en el evento Miami Beach OnStage del verano 2023, la alianza quedó sellada.

“Muévete” fue coescrito por el saxofonista Robert Smiley y cuenta con aportes de Ed Rosado (batería, percusión, arreglos), Mut (bajo), Charles Gardner (teclados), Raymond Ayala (congas) y Julian Cifuentes (trompeta). La grabación, mezcla y masterización estuvieron a cargo de Ferny Coipel en Shack North Studios (Hialeah) y Zach Ziskin. Tijerino también colaboró en el video del primer sencillo “Chunk” y ayudó a dar vida visual al concepto del nuevo video.

Fundado en el verano de 2007, Electric Piquete es una banda ganadora en dos ocasiones del premio “Mejor Banda Latina” del Miami New Times (2009 y 2015). Reflejando la rica diversidad cultural de su ciudad natal, su estilo musical combina elementos de rock, jazz, funk, ritmos afrocaribeños, progresivos y R&B.

Audio for vivid love letter to Miami serves as a rhythmic celebration of diversity and multiculturalism and is already streaming, visuals to debut on YouTube

Miami, FL – July 15, 2025 –  Fresh off being named the Miami New Times “Best Musical Act” in the Readers’ Choice poll, Electric Piquete are set to release the third single and video from their 2024 full length Azabache titled “Muevete Con Ganas”. The song features singer / songwriter / percussionist MannySwagg on lead vocals and the video was co-conceived and directed by Christopher Tijerino (Cr38te Media). Shot on location throughout Miami and at the world-famous Ball & Chain in Little Havana, the new piece drops July 25 on the band’s YouTube Channel.

“I got led by the feeling of Que Pasa USA skits blending into a Miami Sound Machine “Conga” style remix,” says Swagg. “Neon flooring meets Carnaval, Balseros dancing through Miami Beach and Hialeah bringing the diaspora, exile, and multi-cultural experience, and setting the mood for just the right Miami story.” 

Born in Havana, Cuba, Manny fronts his own group called La Creación, but has previously collaborated with Sol + The Tribu, BarrioActivo, and Diana Fuentes and Jorge Luis Chacin, among others. Swagg wrote the lyrics and vocal melody, while Electric Piquete guitarist Chris Correoso composed the original song.

Originally titled “Cheque Sin Fondo”, the band recorded the song during the sessions that led to Azabache during 2022 but had always felt it would be enhanced by proper vocals from a traditional singer. Having seen and heard MannySwagg around the Miami scene for years and after a chance run-in on tour in North Carolina, band co-founder Michael Mut approached the front man about a possible collaboration. Following an incendiary guest spot with the band live during a summer 2023 Miami Beach OnStage performance, the table was set for the collaboration.

“Muevete” was co-written by band saxophonist Robert Smiley, and features contributions from Ed Rosado (drums / percussion / arrangement), Mut (bass), Charles Gardner (keyboards), Raymond Ayala (congas), and Julian Cifuentes (trumpet). It was engineered, recorded, and mixed by Ferny Coipel at the Shack North Studios in Hialeah, and mastered by Zach Ziskin. Tijerino also worked with the band on the video for the first single “Chunk” and helped to visualize and bring the video concept to life.

Founded in the summer of 2007, Electric Piquete is also a two-time winner of the Miami New Times “Best Latin Band” award-winning Latin funk outfit (2009 and 2015). Their influences are as diverse as the Miami region that birthed them, ranging from rock to jazz spiced with everything in between: funk, Afro-Caribbean, progressive and R&B.
