MEDIA ALERT

Electric Piquete Celebrate Valentine’s Day Early at Ball & Chain February 12

Hialeah, FL – February 2, 2016 – Miami New Times’ “Best Latin Band” 2015 return to the live venue they love the most on Friday, February 12, 2016, for a special pre-Valentine’s Day Miami Boheme night hosted by Joe Cardona. Electric Piquete will play two sets beginning at 10 p.m. on the Pineapple Stage. There is no cover; 21 and over are welcome.

A Latin funk / fusion band from Hialeah best known for its fiery originals and inventive interpretations of Latin and jazz standards, Electric Piquete features a powerfully-tight drums / bass / guitar / keys / congas rhythm section that sets the groove for a fiery horn section, taking listeners on an Afro-Caribbean journey of sound. Also named “Best Latin Band” by the Miami New Times in 2009, the group is a veritable melting pot of influences that range from rock to jazz and spiced with everything in between: funk, fusion, old-school salsa, progressive and R&B. Though mostly instrumental, they feature vocals with three-part harmonies and rapping on several numbers.

Founded by drummer / vocalist Ed Rosado and bassist / vocalist Michael Mut in 2007, Electric Piquete also features members Chris Correoso on guitar and Rich Dixon on trumpet and flugelhorn. The band’s sound is augmented by special guests including Raymond Ayala on percussion and vocals, Charles Gardner on keyboards, Robert Smiley on tenor sax and flute, and occasionally, Maco Monthervil on vocals and Jose Miranda on trombone.

The night will also feature DJ sets by Kenyi Succar. For more information, visit www.ElectricPiquete.com.
