Cuban singer / composer plays Jupiter waterfront restaurant and live music venue ahead of new release

Jupiter, FL – September 7, 2016 – When soulful Cuban songstress Danay Suarez returns to an adoring crowd at Guanabanas Island Restaurant and Bar (960 North Highway A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477) on Saturday, September 17, 2016, it will mark the second time she has performed at the venue, and will be ahead of her highly-anticipated new release titled Palabras Manuales. Her debut there earlier this spring was such a complete and total success that anticipation for a return Noche Latina event remains high. The event is free and open to those 21 and over; music begins at 9 p.m.

“Danay’s first show here drew an impressive crowd of her fans, some who had travelled from far away just to attend,” says Guanabanas’ Talent Buyer Matt Cahur. “We expect another great turnout for Noche Latina and another majestic performance by Danay. Fans of hip-hop and reggae alike should not miss this show.” South Florida’s cultural diversity and Jupiter’s thirst for Latin music compelled Cahur to conceive and launch the night last year.

Recently featured this season 2 of CNN’s “The Wonder List”, the thoughtful, eloquent vocalist singularly combines soul and hip-hop with of reggae and the traditional Cuban styling called son. This makes her an ideal candidate for Guanabanas’ on-going Latin music night, which showcases a prominent local, regional or national Latin music artist on a monthly basis. A one year anniversary event is scheduled for October 22, featuring Miami’s Electric Piquete and the Spam Allstars, two groups steeped in Latin funk.

Slated for release in late October / early November, Suarez’s new release is mixed as one seamless record and will feature contributions from Stephen MarleyIdan Raichel, Roberto Fonseca and Jason Matthews. Earlier this year, Danay was featured in the Huffington Post under the headline “Meet the Cuban Hip-Hop Artist You Probably Don’t Know, But Should”. She has since played numerous high-profile U.S. festivals and live dates, as well as dedicated time to put the finishing touches on her latest work.

For more details about the artist, navigate to www.DanaySuarez.com. For more information about the venue, please visit www.Guanabanas.com or call 561.747.8878.

Zach Deputy Plays Guanabanas in Jupiter 9/13

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Zach Deputy Returns to Guanabanas September 13

Soulful R&B singer-songwriter touring in support of new full-length recording Wash It in the Water

Jupiter, FL – September 1, 2016 – Georgia-based multi-instrumentalist Zach Deputy cannot stay away from Jupiter for long. His return to Guanabanas Island Restaurant and Bar (960 N Highway A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477) Tuesday, September 13, 2016 comes on the heels of a packed-house performance May 8, and is part of a promotional tour for his new release titled Wash It in the Water. Deputy’s fourth album is an amalgamation of sunny, soulful new sounds that fuse hip-hop, funk, and folky pop with the spirited rhythms of soca and calypso. Admission is free and 21 and over are welcome; the music begins at 8 p.m.

Zach’s self-described “Island-infused, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Gospel-Ninja-Soul” is a product of an upbringing that was heavily influenced by a very musical family matriarch. “When I was a kid my grandma would play a lot of salsa and soca and make me get up and dance to it, so in a way this is me putting my own spin on all that and bringing those sounds into a whole new era.” The first single is called “Chevrolet” and it plays like a joyful soul / church revival held on a Caribbean beach.

“Zach’s tropically-infused sound is a perfect fit for Guanabanas and always seems to strike the right chord with our live music devotees,” says Talent Buyer Matt Cahur. “I’m excited about watching him perform his new material and am looking forward to what will likely be another memorable evening of live music.” Cahur also heads Roots Music, Inc., a management and promotional company that produces events such as the upcoming “Reggae on the Other River” concert coming to Guanabanas October 9.

Guanabanas, one of Jupiter’s premier live music venues, prides itself on a diverse musical offering as tasty as its award-winning menu. The Noche Latina series, launched just after Hispanic Heritage Month in 2015, features prominent local, regional and national Latin music acts at least once a month. On September 17, Cuban-born singer / composer Danay Suarez will perform for the second time; the series celebrates its first anniversary October 22 with a doubleheader of Miami-based Latin funk by Electric Piquete and the Spam Allstars.

For more details about Zach, navigate to www.ZachDeputy.com. For more information about the location, please visit www.Guanabanas.com or call 561.747.8878.

18th Annual Afro Roots World Music Festival 9/3

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chicago Afrobeat Project and Aurelio Martinez Co-Headline Afro Roots World Music Festival September 3

Nigerian rhythms and Garifuna culture highlight the 18th annual event to be held at the North Beach Bandshell

Miami, FL – August 16, 2016 – The 18th annual Afro Roots World Music Festival, one of the area’s longest-running concert series, will take place on Labor Day Saturday, September 3, 2016, at the historic North Beach Bandshell (7275 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139). Co-headliners Chicago Afrobeat Project and Honduran Garifuna artist Aurelio Martinez will be supported by locals Uma Galera plus DJ Moses. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the first act will go on at 5:30 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $15 and available online at bit.ly/ARWMF18 at that price until September 2. Admission on the day of the show is $25; all ages are welcome.

The Chicago Afrobeat Project has emerged as one of the genre’s most prominent and successful touring American acts, having mastered a sound that successfully weaves the uniqueness of the Chicago music scene with a distinct Nigerian style of music. The group previously collaborated with drummer Tony Allen (Afrobeat granddaddy Fela Kuti‘s drummer), and are currently promoting their latest release Nyash Up!, which is their fourth official album. It incorporates elements of hip-hop, orchestra-like musical arrangement, rock, jazz and funk.

Also featured at this year’s festival is Aurelio, who was born in the tiny coastal hamlet of Plaplaya on Honduras’ Caribbean coast. He may be one of the last generations to grow up steeped in the Garifuna tradition, which encompass the African and Caribbean Indian roots of his ancestors. Specifically, he is a descendant of a group of shipwrecked slaves who intermarried with local natives on the island of St. Vincent who were deported to the Central American coast in the late eighteenth century. The artist also served his community for years as a legislator.

Local openers Uma Galera are an experimental reggae band who play Latin-tinged grooves laced with rock, funk, ska and more to create what they call “world soul music”. Their fitting name means “one crowd”, as their bouts of musical improvisation inspire unity and grow good vibes. Spinning the best from the different eras and sub-genres of world music will be DJ Moses, a mainstay of the festival for more than ten years now.

The festival is produced by local non-profit organization Community Arts & Culture  and is generously bering underwritten by the Knight Foundation, theFlorida Department of Cultural Affairs, the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs, and the Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council.
