Guanabanas Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Electric Piquete and Itawe & Positive Vibrations October 3

FOR IMMEDATE RELEASE

Recurring Latin music series at waterfront restaurant and entertainment venue created more than 10 years ago

Jupiter, FL – September 9, 2026 – Two popular Miami-based acts will perform a musical double header at Guanabanas Island Restaurant & Bar (960 North Highway A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477) on Saturday, October 3, 2026 in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month during Noche Latina. The award-winning Latin funk / fusion outfit Electric Piquete is up first from 3 to 6 p.m. (all ages welcome), and Itawe & the Positive Vibrations will take the stage for a tropical tribute to Bob Marley from 8 to 10 p.m. (21 and over). Both shows are free.

“For more than a decade, Noche Latina has presented the area with a sound that has been traditionally underserved, and I am proud to continue this tradition during the month that honors la hispanidad,” says Guanabanas talent buyer and Roots Music founder Matt Cahur. A musician himself, Cahur is the venue’s lead audio engineer who also manages musical acts and produces and promotes local and regional concerts.

Electric Piquete is a three-time Miami New Times “Best of” winner, most recently named “Best Musical Act” in the 2025 Readers’ Choice poll. They released their full length debut Azabache  in 2024, which produced four singles and three videos, including “Muevete Con Ganas” in July of 2025 and featuring singer / songwriter / percussionist MannySwagg on lead vocals. There was also an evergreen cover of the holiday classic “Jingle Bells” that put a funky shuffle spin on the affair released late last year. The band is currently working on a follow-up release due in the summer of 2027.

Itawe is the one of the creative forces behind the twice Grammy-nominated Locos Por Juana bilingual fusion group and is now the leader of the Positive Vibrations, a Bob Marley and the Wailers tribute band. Named after the 1976 song of the same name from the Rastaman Vibration release, the band has been making the rounds in South Florida honoring the memory of the reggae legend and introducing new fans to the late visionary’s work. He has shared the stage with Marley family members, including at the Locos Por Marley festivals, also co-founded by the vocalist / frontman.

From its humble beginnings as a one-time sandwich shop / kayak rental place in 2004, Guanabanas has grown into an “Old Florida” local mainstay. The enchanting open-air restaurant has been named “Best Waterfront Restaurant” by the Palm Beach Post and “Best Restaurant” by SouthFlorida.com, been featured on PBS Local, Emeril’s Florida, and Chef Michele Bernstein’s Check Please, and become a favorite hangout of professional athletes and international celebrities.

Live music is a staple with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday programming. The recurring Latin music series was first launched by Roots Music, Inc. in 2015 to offer area music fans something other than the usual surf rock and acoustic acts that regularly appear at Guanabanas. Table reservations for the evening show are available here.
