Miami, FL – October 25, 2016 – Electric Piquete deftly fuse rock, jazz, funk, Afro-Caribbean, progressive and R&B influences with incendiary results. The two-time Miami New Times “Best Latin Band” are scheduled to make their debut at Dunedin Brewery (937 Douglas Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698) on Friday, November 11, 2016, beginning at 9 p.m.  There is no cover charge, and 21 and over are welcome.

As the oldest microbrewery in Florida, Dunedin Brewery and their dedicated staff of beer enthusiasts strive to meet the challenge of creating amazing craft brews. Their brews are hand-crafted in small batches, 15 barrels at a time. Much of their production supplies the pub’s on premise taps, while they also ship kegs out to bars and restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. Dunedin Brewery also features a full culinary menu and tours of their facility.

The band recently issued their Singles Collection digitally and on CD, and released a video for their brand new single “Cut Me Loose”. This month they played the main stage at the Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance in North Carolina. Regular performers in and around South Florida, this represents the band’s first foray to the West Coast of their home state.

Jupiter, FL – September 20, 2016 – The federally-designated “Wild and Scenic” Loxahatchee River flowing through Jupiter is home to cypress swamp, freshwater marshes, mangrove swamp, countless bird, plant and fish species, and an annual reggae festival. On Sunday, October 9, 2016, beginning at 1 p.m.,  Guanabanas Island Restaurant and Bar (960 North Highway A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477), located right on the Jupiter Inlet portion of the river, will host eight reggae / roots acts, and renown reggae music DJ and host Kulcha Shok. The show is free and open to all-ages.

The acts schedule to appear include: Through the Roots, Josh Heinrichs, Tropidelic, the Bryce Allyn Band, Sun–Dried Vibes, The Helmsmen, RootsShakedown, and Casey Turner. Guanabanas regularly presents a number of these acts throughout the year, but never all on the same bill. “This year promises to be our biggest and best Dirty River Reggae Fest yet,” says Guanabanas’ Talent Buyer Matt Cahur. “I’m proud of the lineup we’ve managed to assemble for reggae and roots music fans, and am looking forward to the show.”

Through the Roots are from San Diego and are currently in the midst of their “Bloodshot Eyes” tour supporting a 2015 EP release titled Stipped and Exposed, along with the 2016 single “Miss Lovely”. They previously released three EPs, one full-length called Take You There and numerous singles, including a 2012 collaboration with the legendary Jamaican rhythm section / production team Sly & Robbie, “Weekend Remix”. Josh Heinrichs’ latest release “Good Vibes” enjoyed a smashing debut, simultaneously charting at # 1 on the iTunes, Amazon.com and Billboard Reggae charts.  The Springfield, MO native, pure reggae music artist – a Guanabanas favorite – frequently tours the U.S. with his four-piece band, this fall focusing on Florida, Texas and California. Tropidelic is another well-travelled, out-of-state act. Roots Shakedown is another West Palm Beach-based act featuring front man and sometime solo artist Brett Staska.  Soulful R&B singer-songwriter touring in support of new full-length recording Wash It in the Water

Jupiter, FL – September 1, 2016 – Georgia-based multi-instrumentalist Zach Deputy cannot stay away from Jupiter for long. His return to Guanabanas Island Restaurant and Bar (960 N Highway A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477) Tuesday, September 13, 2016 comes on the heels of a packed-house performance May 8, and is part of a promotional tour for his new release titled Wash It in the Water. Deputy’s fourth album is an amalgamation of sunny, soulful new sounds that fuse hip-hop, funk, and folky pop with the spirited rhythms of soca and calypso. Zach’s self-described “Island-infused, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Gospel-Ninja-Soul” is a product of an upbringing that was heavily influenced by a very musical family matriarch. “When I was a kid my grandma would play a lot of salsa and soca and make me get up and dance to it, so in a way this is me putting my own spin on all that and bringing those sounds into a whole new era.” The first single is called “Chevrolet” and it plays like a joyful soul / church revival held on a Caribbean beach.

Miami-based “Afrogalactic / Tropidelic” band brings eclectic sound to waterfront restaurant and music venue

Jupiter, FL – July 19, 2016 – Guanabanas Island Restaurant & Bar’s Noche Latina series rolls on this summer with the debut of one of Miami’s most psychedelic groove / jam bands on Friday, August 19, 2016, beginning at 9 p.m.Guanabanas (960 North Highway A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477) and Roots Music will present the Nag Champayons during the monthly celebration of Latin music and heritage in a free show open to those 21 and over. Dubbed after the incense they would constantly burn during early rehearsals, the Nags once won a “Best Band Name” award from the Miami New Times.

The sextet is currently promoting their latest release, “Rising Sounds of a Sinking City”, and are working on a follow-up single, which promises to be wildly psychedelic. They are hesitant to release the name of the new track for fear of “Brazilian shamanistic repercussions,” says bassist and founder EdCardona. “We’re excited to be taking our sound to another county, and to be spreading the Nag vibe in Jupiter.”

“As a live music and jam band fan, I’m truly looking forward to having the band perform here at Guanabanas,” says Talent Buyer Matt Cahur. “It didn’t take me long after listening to the band and watching performance videos during the vetting process to determine that they are special. I believe all those who attend are in for a special treat.”  The Noche Latina series is the brainchild of Cahur; preparations are underway for the 1st anniversary celebration involving Miami’sElectric Piquete and the Spam Allstars on October 22, 2016.

Speaking of which, the Spam Allstars, the “Miami sound” genre-defining band who returned from a cultural exchange trip to South Africa just a couple of weeks ago, play Guanas this Saturday, July 23. Founded and led by musician, producer and audiophile Andrew Yeomanson, AKA DJ Le Spam, the Latin Grammy-nominated outfit plays the longest-running weekly musical residency in Little Havana and are favorites of the Jupiter area live music aficionados. Little Havana Hotspot Celebrates 81 Years with Three Day Music Festival Featuring Over 100 Musicians

 

Miami, FL  — August 2, 2016 — Ball & Chain, the notable and world famous live music venue is thrilled to present their second annual three-day music festival in honor of the venue’s 81st anniversary this Labor Day Weekend September 2016.  The historical Little Havana landmark originally opened its doors in September 1935 as a thriving live jazz music venue until it closed in the 1950s.  The retro Cuban speakeasy on Calle Ocho was reopened in September 2014 with an authentic Cuban flare meticulously redecorated in iconic 1950s Miami style under new ownership by Ben Bush, Zack Bush and Bill Fuller.

 

“We could not be more excited about the second Ball & Chain Music Festival. We are looking forward to presenting over 45 hours worth of live entertainment in one weekend,” says co-owner Zack Bush. “The lineup includes bands that comprise the rotation of acts that have performed here during the last year, plus a few specials guests and surprise performances.  We appreciate being able to host these wonderful musicians and we are proud to be one of the most prominent live music venues in South Florida”.

 

This is the second annual multi-day, music-driven event to celebrate the venue’s birthday.  The anticipated live performances will begin on Friday, September 2nd , and will go throughout the weekend until 3AM on Sunday featuring over 100 musicians and DJs.
“So much has happened during the last two years, it’s difficult to look back and pick out one outstanding moment,” offers co-owner Bill Fuller. “We’re very pleased that the locals and tourists alike have embraced Little Havana and Ball & Chain and thus created magic. “Jerry’s birthday has always been a great day to celebrate the music of the Grateful Dead, as Jerry’s playing had such a huge influence on the musical community,” says Guanabanas talent buyer Matt Cahur. “We thought it would be a great day of music to bring together some incredible national acts to celebrate the music of Jerry Garcia, the Grateful Dead and all the great bands of that era. We appreciate the support of the local music community and our sponsors New Belgium and Sailor Jerry.”

Along with the birthday celebration, Guanabanas will also be celebrating New Belgium’s 25th Anniversary with a tap takeover featuring all of New Belgium’s iconic beers, including the seven Phat Tire and friends “Coolabeeration” beers. There will be tasting tents and beer specials on Guanabanas’ premier property. Cahur adds: “Blending the music of the Dead and great beer and rum, who could ask for more?”

Deerfield Beach’s Uproot Hootenany is a roots, folk, Celtic, bluegrass and jam quartet who play the East Coast of Florida extensively. The band is a favorite at music festivals in and around the state, and will embark on a tour of Ireland later this summer. They have released three collections of music, including 2014’s Way Out. “The Greatest Story Ever Told” was the title track off of Dead member Bob Weir’s first solo album called Ace. What a better name for an offshoot group featuring some of the great artists of our local area put together only for this show? It will be hard to say who will sit in on this 60-minute set, but the elements of surprise will keep it very interesting.

Reflections is a Jerry Garcia tribute band whose focus is on the man’s music outside of the Grateful Dead. Featuring former members of the group Crazy Fingers, they cover the period of Garcia’s solo work from 1972 until the artist’s death in 1995. More details: www.facebook.com/ReflectionsOfJGB.

A fusion quintet from West Palm Beach, Guavatron blends “jam-tronica”, lounge, funk, jazz, reggae and rock into an infectious, original sound that travels well throughout the county. They list the Grateful Dead as their primary influence and keep a page on Bandcamp: guavatron.bandcamp.com.

Based in Delray Beach, Unlimited Devotion is not a traditional Grateful Dead tribute band, but rather one that doesn’t emulate the band’s song book as much as interpret it. They express themselves through improvisation in the musical vein of jazz and funk. Their repertoire also includes staples by Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Cream, Jefferson Airplane and others. Gondwana from Chile to Perform at Guanabanas for Noche Latina June 24

Notable South American reggae band plays Jupiter waterfront restaurant, bar and music venue during Latin music night

Jupiter, FL – June 14, 2016 – Guanabanas Island Restaurant & Bar’sNoche Latina concert series will be hosting the renown Chilean reggae roots band Gondwana on Friday, June 24, 2016, beginning at 9 p.m. Located at 960 North Highway A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477, Guanabanas is presenting Latin music concerts of differing flavors this summer, featuring some of South Florida’s finest Latin bands, in addition to this international act.

“Our summer concert series is off to a great start, having already featured a CD release party by Jupiter’s Moska Project, and Miami-based Lanzallamas,” says Talent Buyer Matt Cahur. “As a fan of reggae and roots music, I am extremely excited about Gondwana’s debut concert here. It promises to be another fantastic evening of live Latin music.” Cahur launched the monthly Latin music night just after Hispanic Heritage month 2015, in part to satiate demands due to South Florida’s diversity and interest in all things Latin America.

Founded in 1987 during the turbulent and violently oppressive times of Augosto Pinochet’s dictatorial rule, Gondwana’s chart-topping “reggae & roll” sound is inspired equally by Bob Marley and The Police. Currently on their “Babylon by Van” tour of the United States, the performance at Guanabanas on June 24 will also be hosted by Lance-O from Kulcha Shok Muzik. There will also be performances by the award-winning Miami-based Latin funk band Electric Piquete on July 3 (4 p.m.), the Spam Allstars (July 23), a Latin Grammy-nominated Latin / Afro-Cuban funk outfit led by musician, producer and audiophile Andrew Yeomanson, AKA DJ Le Spam, and the NagChampayons, who self-describe as “Afrogalactic / tropidelic” and are known for improvisational and multi-ethnic musical brilliance in Miami (August  19).

Guanabanas is an open air restaurant and bar with woven tiki huts and banyan trees towering overhead and hand-chiseled coquina stone pathways underfoot. The team maintains a laid-back, island atmosphere where everyone is welcome. All performances, unless otherwise noted, begin at 9 p.m. and are free and open to the public. 21 and over are welcome Fridays and Saturdays; Sunday performances are all-ages.
