Zach Deputy Plays Free, All-Ages Show at Guanabanas May 8
Soulful R&B singer-songwriter performs at Jupiter venue with special guest Brett Staska
Miami, FL – April 26, 2016 – The one man band phenom from South Carolina known as Zach Deputy will once again grace the Guanabanas Island Restaurant and Bar stage Sunday, May 8, 2016, beginning at 4 p.m. with supporting act Brett Staska. The show caps a weekend of roots / reggae live music performances at the venue located at 960 North Highway A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477; there is never a cover. Now based in Savannah, GA, the multi-instrumentalist / singer-songwriter Deputy is currently on tour all over the U.S. promoting his latest release “Keep On Moving”, which features backing musicians known as The Hashtags.
Zach’s musical influences are varied and extremely diverse. Growing up, the music of his Puerto Rican, Cruzan and Irish heritage included Calypso rhythms and folk songs of St. Croix combined with the R&B / soul of legends like James Brown and Ray Charles. As Deputy matured and honed his craft, a unique hybrid of these influences emerged, ultimately creating a signature sound the artist dubbed “Island-infused, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Gospel-Ninja-Soul”. His live show is enhanced by looping technology and is a literal one man dance party.
“We’ve been a fan of Zach’s infectious sound for a long time now,” says Talent Buyer Matt Cahur. “We’re happy to have him back as he has become one of J-Town’s favorite artists.” He has played Guanabanas several times over the last few years, even issuing a live recording from November 2010 on Bandcamp. Opener Staska, also a solo performer, released his debut four-song “sunburnt folk-rock” EP in June of 2015; he also performs with the roots / reggae band Roots Shakedown.
Guanabanas hosts Sammy J’s reggae / soul from down under Friday, May 6, then Herbal Krew the following night May 7 – both shows are free, open to 21 and over, and begin at 9 p.m. Zach Deputy closes the weekend with this specialSunday afternoon concert at 4 p.m. – this show is free and all-ages.

ABOUT GUANABANAS
Guanabanas is dedicated to providing each guest with a truly unique outdoor dining experience. We have designed our company and our restaurant in an unorthodox way to help achieve the high standards we have set for ourselves in the disciplines of service, food, atmosphere/ambiance, waterfront location, landscape design, outdoor temperature control and the overall sensory experience.
We feel it is necessary to provide a true “Florida” experience with our creative outdoor restaurant design which utilizes quality exotic/local plants and trees, Key West/Old Florida styled structures, hand-built cheeky huts from the native Indian tribes of Florida, fresh Florida seafood and a premium bar with a national live music calendar.
Giving back to the community is such a focal point for our company’s mission that we developed a monthly event we have termed “Give Back Thursdays” to help feed the need of our community organizations. With our “Give Back Thursdays” event we have partnered with some fantastic companies to help drive donations where money is badly needed, as well as giving away our stage space to allow the charities to showcase their cause.
Guanabanas helps support many local charities, such as the Surfrider Foundation, Pink Purses, Martin Memorial Hospital, Haiti Relief Effort, Freedom Flight for WWII Vets by the Martin County Firefighters, Jupiter High Surf Team, Friends of Jupiter Beach, Vita Nova House, and many others.
