Ska-tinged collaborative single part of a seven-song project centered on celebrating life with intention and purpose
Miami, FL – April 29, 2025 – Singer / songwriter Elsten Torres is back with a simple, yet affirmative message: live. Now streaming, “Vive” is the first single from the upcoming album Vice Versa, a seven-song project centered on celebrating life with intention and purpose. This debut single channels the fierce joy of taking back your life and searching for meaning in uncertain times.
The project began just before the pandemic, initially under the working title “Los Reggae Monks”, when Elsten joined forces with longtime collaborators Emil Temeltas and Raul Ramirez to co-write and co-produce the songs. After a long pause, Elsten revived the project with acclaimed producer JP Gasca of SpiralMonkey Productions, breathing new life into its message of joy, resilience, and creative renewal.
“‘Vive'”is a reminder to embrace the present and live with joy, purpose, and meaning,” says the two-time GRAMMY award nominee and two-time BMI award winner Torres. “It encourages listeners to trust themselves and not let the opportunities of life, love, health, and happiness slip away. “Vive”, mixed by Carlos “El Loco” Bedoya (Beyoncé, Mick Jagger, Enrique Iglesias) and mastered by Hernan Ascóniga, is an infectious, uptempo ska track infused with vintage rock guitars, Motown-style horns, and reggae-inspired female choruses. The warm, vibrant energy blends retro influences with a fresh, modern edge. The result is a feel-good, rootsy anthem with an undeniable groove.
Filmed in Boca Raton, FL at Sapphire Studios, the accompanying video features Elsten in a performance setting along with some visual concepts that match the themes represented in song. Directed and edited by Daniel Barrocas, the video premiered April 25 on the artist’s YouTube channel.
Vice Versa will mark Elsten’s 13th full length release, a career spanning several decades and continents, and coloring a wide spectrum of musical styles, including Latin rock, Rockabilly, and Cuban Son. Torres is managed by MFM+ Entertainment. Torres will embark on a promotional tour of Spain soon, including a May 14 stop in Madrid.
