20th Annual Medical Marijuana Concert Headlined by Inner Circle to be Held September 22 at Wow House

NORML of Florida, Ploppy Palace Productions, and Modern Galaxy TV again host benefit concert featuring live music, vendors, speakers and more

Miami, FL – August 28, 2018 – The 20th Annual Medical Marijuana Benefit Concert hosted by NORML of Florida, Ploppy Palace Productions, and Modern Galaxy TV promises to be a celebration like none before. Throughout its two-decade long run, the concert has featured many local and regional acts, but this year, reggae legends Inner Circle will top the bill. Early bird tickets for the event are $25 and available online at bit.ly/MMC20; show is open to those 18 and over. The Wow House is located at 3100 NW 7th Avenue, Miami, FL 33127. Music begins at 4:20 p.m.

“As we continue to organize and bring people together for the event, I am reminded of the diversity of voices that this event represents,” says Ploppy Palace’s Flash, local activist and the event’s founder. “By embracing the broad scope of cannabis in society, this showcase features an assortment of genres, mediums and demographics to help represent the widespread appeal of marijuana culture.”

Flash continues: “This event strives to present solidarity as we demonstrate our unity beyond age or ancestry because our roots are recognized in our collective liberty. Medical Marijuana is about healthcare and protecting patients from misguided law enforcement. The laws changed in Florida because voters got together and pushed for reform.” The event is being sponsored in part by Trulieve and New Belgium Brewing.

Besides Flash, the confirmed speakers are: South Miami Vice Mayor Walter Harris, Dr. Jeffrey Kamlet (addiction specialist), Karen Goldstein (Exec. Director NORML of FL), Irvin Rosenfeld (Federal medical marijuana patient), Robert Platshorn (The Silver Tour), Candidate for U.S. Congress Tim Canova (Progress for All), State Representative David Richardson, and more TBA.

Live music acts also include Telekinetic Walrus, SunGhosts, the Nag Champayons, Rhythm Flow, Kuyayky, Hakim Green of Channel Live, Mr. Grim Reapa, Bodizepha, MichelangeloCoolPeeple, Haviken Hayes, Buzz Fleischman, Orrin BoltonBright Wing, DJ GQ and more. 10th Annual Everglades Awareness Concert is 11/4 at Gramps

10th Annual Everglades Awareness Concert Scheduled for November 4 at Gramps in Wynwood

Activism and entertainment at the forefront of event hosted by Love the Everglades Movement and Ploppy Palace Productions

Miami, FL – October 10, 2017 – One of South Florida’s longest-running concert series, the annual Everglades Awareness Concert, returns to Gramps in Wynwood Saturday, November 4, 2017, beginning at 2 p.m.  It will feature live music, speakers, spoken word performances, live and digital art, and more through 3 a.m. the following day. The all-ages event is free for children under 12 and $10 for those 12 and over.

“This is a celebration for the Everglades that features a diverse mix of music, spoken word, dance, live art, community speakers and lots of creative interaction,” says concert organizer and community activist Flash. “We are coming together to support the Everglades because we need to protect our water supply and our ecosystem, so this is a party and a call-to-action for the Everglades. Our goal is to inspire people to appreciate the vitality of the Everglades and recognize that individuals can make a difference.”

There will be dance and performances by Elviza’s Rockabelly Hippies featuringElvizaSymphony & Sofia Luna plus Melody Gedeon, and more. Additionally, Anibal Fernandez and Linx will be painting live, and a digital art show highlighting more than 40 artists will run on a continuous loop. Information booths from Love the Everglades Movement, VolunteerCleanup.org and other organizations will be present.

Vendors and small businesses including The Wallflower GalleryProgressiveRags, and others will be promoting and selling their merchandise. Also, more activities for kids are being developed. Miami, FL – February 21, 2017 – An overwhelming 71% of Florida voters approved Amendment 2 on November 8, 2016, making medical marijuana legal in the state as of January 3, 2017. Yet, the fight still continues. With the state house and senate set to convene and create and or modify existing rules, there are still the issues of access and free market availability that need to be addressed. Add to that the specter of a newly-confirmed, ultra-conservative U.S. Attorney General, and one can see the path to medicinal cannabis relief is still hazy.

Enter the 19th Annual Medical Marijuana Benefit Concert hosted by Ploppy Palace Productions, NORML of Florida and Modern Galaxy TV, to be held at The Wynwood Yard (56 NW 29th Street, Miami, FL 33127) on SATURDAY, March 18, 2017. Tickets for the event, which is being billed as a “Celebration Festival”, are $15 in advance and available online at bit.ly/19thMMBC; show is open to those 18 and over. Admission for those aged 18 – 20 will be $25 at the door.

“For nearly two decades, Ploppy Palace Productions and NORML of Florida have combined an eclectic music festival with an informative conference to be a platform for community interaction,” says Ploppy Palace’s Flash, event organizer. “This dynamic forum has grown throughout the years, as the movement has strengthened. Our expanding coalition says that as long as it takes to change the laws and make medical marijuana accessible to those in need, the Medical Marijuana Benefit Concert will continue to fight to generate more public support!”
