Alexis Valdés Performs Free Concert At Hialeah Park On June 9


Multi-talented sensation set for 9 p.m. show Friday, June 9 in outdoor Paddock Garden; music begins at 7 p.m.
Hialeah, FL May 17, 2017 – The dynamic Cuban-born sensation AlexisValdés will bring his entertaining array of talents to Hialeah Park on Friday June 9 when he performs a free concert in the Paddock Garden at 9 p.m.

Valdés, whose repertoire includes singing, comedy, monologues, screenwriting, and producing, is best known in the South Florida area for his popular television comedy shows Seguro Que Yes on America Teve and Ésta Es Tu Noche on Mega TV.

In 2011, Valdés released his second music CD, the highly acclaimed Con Cariñito (With Affection), which received rave reviews from fans and music critics alike.

Alexis Valdés and a number of special guests will appear on stage in Hialeah Park’s Paddock Garden for Una Noche Con Alexis Valdés as the iconic venue continues its series of “garden shows” for 2017.

Concert goers will be able to enjoy culinary delights from a variety of food trucks, including the Cuban Guys Mobile Unit. Music fans are invited to bring their own chairs and blankets.

Local favorite DJ El Russo, known as Hialeah Park’s favorite entertainer, will kick the evening off with music and banter starting at 7 p.m.

Hialeah Park began making history in 1922 as the Miami Kennel Club, the first pari-mutuel greyhound track in America, founded by Missouri cattleman James Bright and aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss. In early 1925, the newly renamed Hialeah Park opened for thoroughbred racing over a one-mile dirt track.

Electric Piquete to Play the Gay 8 Festival in Little Havana January 15

Miami, FL – January 5, 2017 – The award-winning Electric Piquete deftly fuse rock, jazz, funk, Afro-Caribbean, progressive and R&B influences with incendiary results. They have asked to join a line up of the top live entertainment acts in Miami for the 2nd annual Gay 8 Festival in Little Havana Sunday, January 15, 2017, between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The two-time Miami New Times “Best Latin Band”  are slated to play the main stage to be located on Calle Ocho and S.W. 17th Avenue at 3 p.m. that day. Also performing: Lucy Grau, Son Lokos, Locos Por Juana and the Spam Allstars. The event is free and open to the public, welcoming all, and will also feature free LGBT film screenings at the Tower Theater, as well as walking tours throughout the day. Many local restaurants will be selling food from booths at the festival.

In 2016, Electric Piquete issued their Singles Collection digitally and on CD, and released a video for a new single “Cut Me Loose”. In addition, they played the main stage at the Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance in North Carolina and made their debut on the West Coast of Florida at the Dunedin Brewery.
