Noche Latina Returns to Guanabanas with Electric Piquete and Elastic Bond May 19

Two prominent Miami Latin funk bands to be featured at the Jupiter waterfront restaurant and live music venue

Jupiter, FL – May 9, 2018 – Electric Piquete return to Guanabanas Island Restaurant for another mid-afternoon engagement 4 to 7 p.m., while Elastic Bond (9 p.m.) will make their debut during the next edition of the popular monthly Noche Latina series on Saturday, May 19, 2018. The award-winning venue is located on the east bank of the Loxahatchee River at 960 N Hwy A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477. There is no cover charge; all-ages welcome to the early show and 21+ to the later performance.

“These two prominent Miami acts are sure to light up our stage,” says Guanabanas talent buyer Matt Cahur. “Electric Piquete never fails to deliver a great time and a captivating performance. Elastic Bond comes in as one of the most well-known acts based in South Florida – I am sure our folks will enjoy their tropical / Latin pop. ”Cahur heads up Roots Music, Inc., a Jupiter-based, 20+ year music management and promotions company responsible for live music bookings at Guanabanas; he’s also their lead sound engineer.

Electric Piquete – twice named “Best Latin Band” by the Miami New Times – is best known for its fiery originals and inventive interpretations of Latin and jazz standards. A powerfully-tight drums / bass / guitar / keys / congas rhythm section sets the groove for a fiery horn section, taking listeners on an Afro-Caribbean journey of sound. They are a veritable melting pot of influences that range from rock to jazz and spiced with everything in between: funk, fusion, old-school salsa, progressive and R&B. Though mostly instrumental, they feature vocals with three-part harmonies and rapping on several numbers.

Established in Miami in 2006, Elastic Bond infuses an uplifting sound self-described as psychedelic tropical soul. The band originally started out as aloose studio collaboration between Venezuelan producer-musician Andrés Ponce and Honduran singer-songwriter Sofy Encanto, and soon developed into a unique blend of funk, hip hop, soul and Latin written and performed in Spanish and English.

In 2017, the band released their latest album Honey Bun in collaboration with Grammy-winner Adrian Quesada as co-producer. This album presents an organic soul sound with a glaze of hip hop and it’s the band’s first vinyl release. Elastic Bond notably performed in the 2017 LAMC conference in New York City, Chicago’s Pilsen Fest and in Mexico City at Vive Latino 2018 as special guests of Los Amigos Invisibles, who also featured the in their single “Espérame” from their latest Grammy-nominated album “El Paradise”.
