Miami’s Electric Piquete Celebrate Cuban Independence Day at Dunedin Brewery Friday, May 17


Dunedin, FL – May 6, 2019 – Two-time Miami New Times “Best Latin Band” Electric Piquete will return to Dunedin Brewery (937 Douglas Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698) on Friday, May 17, 2019 for a very special Cuban Independence Day celebration. The award-winning Miami banddeftly fuse rock, jazz, funk, Afro-Caribbean, progressive and R&B influences with incendiary results. There is no cover charge, and 21 and over are welcome, and the music begins at 9 p.m.  

Band co-founder and bassist Michael Mut shares: “Cuba shares many historical parallels with Tampa, and May 20 being the 117th anniversary of the day the the island nation declared independence from Spain, what better place to celebrate than the Dunedin Brewery?” The band wrote and released a single called “En La Playa Giron” as a tribute to veterans of the Cuban Bay of Pigs Invasion, and also penned a tribute to Cuban revolutionary hero Jose Marti called “De Cara al Sol“. 

Electric Piquete first debuted at the venue in November 2016. They are currently working in a double-A side to be released digitally and on vinyl. Prior to issuing a live recording in 2018 called “Chunk“, the release a Singles Collection is available digitally and on CD. A video for their single “Cut Me Loose” is streaming on YouTube. The band has played the main stage at the Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance in North Carolina, as well as several major music festivals in South Florida. The band are becoming more frequent performers on the West Coast of their home state.

As the oldest microbrewery in Florida, Dunedin Brewery and their dedicated staff of beer enthusiasts strive to meet the challenge of creating amazing craft brews. Their brews are hand-crafted in small batches, 15 barrels at a time. Much of their production supplies the pub’s on premise taps, while they also ship kegs out to bars and restaurants in the Tampa Bay area.
